Jennifer Dulos, 50, was last seen on Friday, May 24, dropping off her children at school and was reported missing later that same day after failing to show up for numerous meetings by friends.
Since then, New Canaan police, along with state police have combed the area including Waveny Park, the area around her New Canaan home, as well as inside the home, and a home her mother owns near Mallard Lake in Pound Ridge.
Although many news outlets have reported the case is now being handled as a homicide case, New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said the case was still a missing person case.
"We have not classified this case as a homicide," Ferraro said in an email on Friday, May 31. "We have not recovered a body."
Ferraro added that department would not discuss any person of interest, despite Dulos going through a contentious divorce with her estranged husband Fotis Dolus, 51, of Farmington.
In court documents, Dulos stated that she was feared for her life and was afraid her estranged husband would harm her or the children.
Dulos is quoted in the documents as saying, "I am afraid of my husband. I know that filing for divorce and filing this motion will enrage him. I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way."
The documents also reveal the Dulos' family has hired an armed guard to watch over the five children who are reportedly staying with her mother in New York City.
Police have focused on the Waveny Park area after finding Dulos' black Chevy Suburban abandoned near the park, police said.
Dulos is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, police said.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the New Canaan Police at 203-594-3544.
